Operation Ladon: Tackling Anti social behaviour in Aberkenfig, Sarn and Ynysawdre

As a result of Operation Ladon 1 male person was arrested for assault, 6 ASBO Referrals were submitted, and 107 person stops were conducted.

Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Andrew Westlake, who led the operation, stated “The PACT led operation was conducted in response to community members identifying anti social behaviour as a priority for partnership action at multiple PACT meetings. The Operation included high visibility foot patrols by the Neighbourhood Policing Team who were joined by several members of the public.”

PCSO Andrew Westlake continues “In addition local councillor Derek Baker, an active PACT meeting participant, conducted foot patrols with the Neighbourhood Policing Team, along with a local Youth Worker. The operation focused on both enforcement and prevention, with high visibility engagement with local youths who were encouraged to offer suggestions on the best ways to improve their area, and the quality of life of all residents.”

PCSO Andrew Westlake continues “ The operation resulted in 114 positive actions, and operations to tackle anti social behaviour will be ongoing.”
