Nantyfyllon primary school team up with their Caerau Neighbourhood Policing Team with new hockey equipment

The pupils of Nantyfyllon Primary School have teamed up with the Caerau Neighbourhood Policing Team, with the school receiving new hockey equipment.

Caerau Neighbourhood Beat Officers PC Steve Bowen, PC Mark Hunter, and PC Ceri Jones who are regular visitors to the school and a friendly face to the pupils arranged for the school to have new hockey equipment, including hockey sticks, and training tops.

Caerau Neighbourhood Beat Officer PC Steve Bowen, or PC Steve as he known to the pupils, stated “The Neighbourhood Policing Team learned that the school’s hockey equipment was not in a good condition, and we decided along with our community partners to arrange for the school to receive new hockey equipment, that has been enthusiastically greeted by the pupils. The new wooden hockey sticks, and training tops will contribute to the pupils enhancing their hockey skills.”

Caerau Neighbourhood Beat Officer PC Mark Hunter stated “It’s great to see the pupils playing hockey, with the new equipment, and they have been taking part in training sessions. The new equipment will complement the schools sporting programme, and is a resource that can be used by all the pupils.”

Demi Hurley, aged 11, who’s a midfield player stated “The new hockey equipment is very nice, and all the pupils are very proud to put on the new training tops, and we hope to score many good goals with the hockey sticks.”

OTHER CAERAU AREA SCHOOLS, AND MORE SPORTS…

In addition the Caerau Neighbourhood Policing Team, along with community partners have also arranged new tracksuits for the pupils at Blaenllynfi Infants School who participate in football training with the Neighbourhood Policing Team, and a new kit for the Netball team at Blaencaerau Junior School.

PC Steve stated “The Neighbourhood Policing Team will continue to work closely with our schools throughout the Caerau area, and through active community engagement community enhancing activities will continue.”
