The Odeon Cinema in Bridgend plays a much bigger part of community life than people may think. The cinema, in partnership with Caerau Neighbourhood Policing Team recently donated several tickets to pupils at Blaencaerau Junior School to reward pupils for their hard work and commitment.

PC Bowen, who is the Police Community Officer of the Year said “I would like to thank the Odeon Cinemas for their kind donation of tickets to the recent screening of Ratatouille which the children thoroughly enjoyed and recommended to their friends.”

Hopefully this is the start of a long term partnership between Caerau NPT, South Wales Police and the Odeon Cinemas.”

Sharon Bevan, Head Teacher of Blaencaerau stated “I would like to thank PC Bowen for setting up this opportunity for some of the children who I would describe as unsung heroes. These are children who act as playground pals, fruit monitors and members of the very successful school orchestra. It is a very difficult task choosing the children to go on the trips as there are a number of children who are more than eligible to attend.”
