Police surgery for Newcastle ward

Neighbourhood policing teams across Bridgend are planning for next week’s Home Office initiative called Not in My Neighbourhood Week. The initiative is running throughout Wales and England and aimed at providing the public with information about local policing and greater reassurance.


Bridgend business pact celebrates successful first year

The Business PACT initiative in Bridgend has held its first Annual General Meeting and has been able to look back on a very successful first year of operation.


Latest drugs awareness day for Bridgend

The Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) for Bridgend is planning its latest Drugs Awareness road show, building upon the success of a similar event held in Wildmill in September.

The latest event is being coordinated by Sergeant Mark Watkins and PC Kelly Thomas. It will be held at Bridgend Bus Station on Monday 2 November and run from 12.00pm – 5.00pm.


Porthcawl Mermaids Aim For Success

Funding has been secured for a new kit for the Mermaids Netball Team based in Porthcawl with profits confiscated from drug crime which is used to fund worthwhile community projects.

Hallowe’en party for Pencoed

In collaboration with Safer Bridgend, the Neighbourhood Policing Team for Pencoed has put together a special Hallowe’en event for the young people of the town which will feature fancy dress competitions, live music a ‘DJ’ and lots of traditional Hallowe’en games.

Alcohol seized from under age drinkers

Neighbourhood Police Officers in Bridgend have been clamping down on under age drinkers in the town. As part of a continuing effort to combat anti social behaviour, particularly in the Newbridge Fields area, officers have stepped up their patrols and have seized large quantities of alcohol.

Drugs operation hailed as success

A combined operation involving the Bridgend Neighbourhood Policing Team, the police helicopter, mounted officers has been hailed as a success by South Wales Police.

Beat the bogus caller

Most people who call at your home will be genuine. But sometimes, people turn up unannounced, with the intention of tricking their way into your home.They are known as ‘ distraction burglars’ or ‘ bogus callers’, whose only aim is to get into homes to distract people and steal their money or valuables.You should always be aware when someone you don’t know calls at your door.


Police lend a hand

Neighbourhood Police Officers from Porthcawl were caught up in a tug of war when they answered a call to investigate suspicious behaviour at the Sandy Bay area of the seaside town.

Street rugby league comes to Nantymoel

PCSOs Richard Thomas and Gareth Evans have been working closely with Crusaders’ community development manager, Matthew Pritchard to introduce Street Rugby League to Nantymoel.
