Youth Offending Service
Bridgend YOS will strive to prevent and reduce re-offending amongst children and young people and increase their self esteem, responsibility and opportunities to develop positive life styles.
Bridgend YOS is a multi agency team made up of representatives from social services, education, the police, probation, health and voluntary agencies and sits within Safeguarding and Family Support, Children’s Directorate, BCBC.
Information For Young People
If you get into trouble with the police it can be difficult to understand what will happen. YOS staff are there to help you understand what is going on and support you.
Work With Victims Of Crime
The YOS works with young people, victims and the community by encouraging participation in restorative justice. Restorative justice is designed to redress the balance in the criminal justice system by offering victims a chance to be heard.
Work With The Community
Since its inception in 1998 the YOS has been involved in a number of community projects. Nearly all young people involved in the youth justice system are required to carry out reparation.
