Try something positive try Street Rugby League

Safer Bridgend are working with the Celtic Crusaders to invite young people around the borough to try something positive and different called Street Rugby League.

Street Rugby League Success Continues

The Crusaders’ first ever Street Rugby League competition took place on Friday 30th October at the South Wales Police Grounds in Bridgend.

Street Rugby League is a joint initiative between Safer Bridgend and the Crusaders and provides youngsters with an opportunity to be coached by the Crusaders along with Police and Police Community Support Officers.

Safer Bridgend and Wales Rugby League launch their second year of Street Rugby in the Bridgend area this week with the first of four festivals.

Bridgend's First Street Rugby festival of the year is a great success

Wales Rugby League and Safer Bridgend’s first Street Rugby festival of the year last weekend was a great success with 60 youngsters attending.

The festival, held in Waterton, was won by Caerau Cougars who beat Sarn 4 tries to 0 in the Final with the Cup being presented by South Wales Scorpions’ prop Liam Roach.

Sport hits the streets in rugby league festival

Youngsters took to the streets to compete in the boroughs second street rugby league festival of 2010. After the resounding success of the first tournament where 60 children from Caerau, Nantymoel, Sarn and Wildmill take part, teams once again made the trip to the Waterton ground in hope of being crowned champions.

Street Rugby League Final announced

Wales Rugby League, Safer Bridgend, and Community First are proud to host The Street Rugby League Finals Day at The Riverside Hardware Brewery Field in Bridgend on Friday 17th September at 5.30pm.
