Youth Shelter Consultation Pontycymmer

Picture of a youth shelter

It is proposed to erect a youth shelter as a meeting place for young people on land at the rear of the Co-op, Pontycymmer and opposite the Fire Station, hopefully as an alternative to the bus shelter on the Square. However before any action is taken the views of the local community are being sought.

Pictured are some examples of youth shelters elsewhere in the Borough. There are youth shelters at Brackla, Nantymoel and Ynysawdre and none of these have been the centre of complaints about young people’s behaviour. Also shown in a photo is the area of land where it proposed to site the shelter.
