Targetting motoring offences in the Ogmore Valley

South Wales Police badge

The Ogmore and Garw Valley Neighbourhood Policing Team urge motorists to drive sensibly, and will be conducting a number of operations, to target motoring offences, including speeding, driving without wearing a seatbelt, and using a mobile phone.

Community members have identified excessive vehicle speed as a priority for partnership action at recent PACT meetings for Nantymoel / Ogmore Vale, and Blaengarw / Pontycymmer.

Blaengarw / Pontycymmer Neighbourhood Beat Officer PC Chris Thomas stated “The Neighbourhood Policing Team will be conducting a number of PACT led high visibility operations to educate drivers on road safety issues, and offending drivers will face enforcement, to include penalty notices. Drivers are advised to drive sensibly at all times to ensure that the roads throughout the Ogmore and GarwValley become even safer.”

Community members with any information on motoring offences are urged to contact Bridgend Police Station on 01656 655 555, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Alternatively community members with information on motoring offences can approach officers on the beat, or inform their Neighbourhood Policing Team via upcoming Partners and Communities Together (PACT) meetings, with meeting dates being available from www.saferbridgend.org.uk, and clicking on the PACT Information link.
