Specialist support for parents in the Llynfi Valley and Bettws areas

Bridgend Substance Misuse Action Team (SMAT) has been selected as one of four pilot areas in Wales to deliver an evaluated early parental intervention programme (EEPIP). The EEPIP service was launched by the Welsh Assembly Government and chair of the SMAT on October 1st 2007.

The EEPIP service will be on offer for parents in the Llynfi Valley and Bettws areas. EEPIP will offer specialist support on a voluntary basis for existing clients of substance misuse services, in order to improve their parenting capacity and enable them to build upon their skills.

Parents will be offered family support as well as specialist parenting and health interventions, within their home, school and community environments.

For further information or leaflets, kindly telephone 01656 810012 and ask for Sally, Project Co-ordinator.
