Sign of The Times at Wildmill

Group of young people with signage designed by the young people

A project between the young people on Wildmill,Youth Works (Groundwork), Valleys to Coast and local businesses culminated in an official opening yesterday.

The project devised by Valleys to Coast and Youth works is the first stage in a project that eventually looks to redesign all the street signs on Wildmill .This initial stage of the project looked to use the creative energies of the young people from Wildmill to design new signs at the entrances to the estate. The signs look to welcome people to the estate as well as to reduce the speed of traffic in the area. The young people worked with assistances of two professional designers from Bridgend business United Graphic Design to work up their creations. These initial designs were then converted into the signs by Elite Signs another Bridgend based business.

Peter Cahill Chief Executive for Valleys to Coast said “ We are very pleased by the signs produced by the Young People on the estate, they are bold and eye catching as well as sending across an important message to passing motorists.”
