Pcso's targeting Pyle residents to ensure your garden is intruder proof
Crime Prevention advice was on the agenda in Pyle recently as Pyle Neighbourhood Policing Team targeted shed owners.
Police Community Support Officers Jon Howe and Karen Powell attended at Woodcraft 82 on Heol Mostyn, Village Farm Industrial Estate, to hand out advice to local residents regarding Shed and Garage Burglaries and how to make your garden intruder proof. The average garden shed contains many valuable items and South Wales Police strongly advise protecting yourself and your property against theft.
Some of the advice given included fitting grilles or mesh to windows and investing in an alarm and a sturdy lock.
PCSO Powell stated “Protecting yourself against this type of crime is paramount at this time of year. Pyle Neighbourhood Policing Team is committed to help reduce crime in the area and this is just the first of many projects we will be engaged in over the next couple of months.”
The Manager of Woodcraft, David Jones, who is also the local Councillor for Porthcawl East ward said “It was good to see the local PCSOs actively targeting this type of incident in an effort to reduce crime. We were more than happy to support Pyle Police in this venture and it seemed to be very well received by the members of the public who took the time to stop and speak to Jon and Karen.”
