Opportunity for people who use drug and alcohol services to get more involved in planning them

Bridgend Substance Misuse Action Team has arranged a series of workshops to support people who use drug and alcohol services to become more involved in how they are planned. The workshops are being delivered by New Link Wales and will give people the chance to develop skills in communication, managing meetings, how to be assertive as well as explaining how drug and alcohol services are planned.

The three workshops will be held in Hope Chapel, Derwen Road, Bridgend between 10a.m. and 3.30 p.m. on Thursday May 15th, 22nd and 29th.

The workshops are open to anyone who gets support from a drug or alcohol service or who has in the past. They will be fun and informative and an opportunity for people to become more involved.

Angharad Evans, Substance Misuse Development Manager for Bridgend Local Health Baord and County Borough Council said ‘T hese workshops are really exciting. The Action team welcomes the views of service users and the workshops are a first step in people getting more involved.’

Anyone interested in attending or who needs help with travel costs to attend are asked to ring Angharad Evans on 01656 754400.
