Pencoed Neighbourhood Beat Officer PC Andy Moffat stated “Operation Swordfish included a number of high visibility patrols by the Neighbourhood Policing Team to target motoring related offenders throughout Pencoed, with speeding being identified as a priority for action in Pencoed PACT meetings. The Neighbourhood Policing Team urges community members to drive sensibly at all times, to ensure Pencoed roads become even safer.”
Pencoed Neighbourhood Beat Officer PC Sam Beaumont stated “Operations to target motoring related offences will be ongoing, with regular high visibility patrols being conducted using the Unipar SL700 Laser Speed Meter. Again the Neighbourhood Policing Team will focus on preventing motoring offences in the first instance through educating drivers on road safety issues, along with enforcement, with penalty notices being issued to offenders.”
In addition the Pencoed Neighbourhood Policing Team has issued 15 Fixed Penalty Notices (of £30 fines) for parking offences in the vicinity of the Penybont Road lay-by adjacent to the shops, in Pencoed.
