Operation Cubism: Targeting Anti social behaviour in the Ogmore and Garw Valley

The Ogmore and Garw Valley Neighbourhood Policing Team have conducted a PACT led Operation called Cubism to tackle Anti Social Behaviour, resulting in 129 positive actions throughout the Ogmore and Garw Valley.

As a result of Operation Cubism 5 anti social behaviour related arrests were made including 3 males and 2 females, 8 ASBO Referrals were submitted, 113 person stop searches were conducted, and 3 Fixed Penalty Notices were issued.

Neighbourhood Beat Officer PC Chris Thomas, who led the operation stated “The PACT led operation was conducted to tackle anti social behaviour throughout the Ogmore and Garw Valley, in response to community members identifying anti social behaviour as a priority for partnership action at multiple valley PACT meetings.”

PC Chris Thomas continues “The operation included intelligence led high visibility foot patrols in the vicinity of housing estates, parks, retail premises, and licensed premises. The operation included enforcement with 5 arrests being made, along with prevention through active community engagement.”

Betws PCSO (Police Community Support Officer) Dave Wilkinson, stated “Part of the operation included targeted foot patrols throughout Betws with an emphasis on preventing anti social behaviour. The high visibility nature of the operation resulted in no reported incidents of anti social behaviour in the Betws area.”

Neighbourhood Beat Officer PC Suzette Williams stated “Operations to tackle anti social behaviour will be ongoing throughout the valley. The Neighbourhood Policing Team will continue to work closely with our community members and positive action will be taken against any offenders.”
