New school PACT representatives

Porthcawl comprehensive school pupils: Tina Al-Makhtar, Lucy Krouma, Poppy Jones, Corey Bridgeman,Sam Buffett and Esther Trevelyan

A meeting was held between Porthcawl Police officers and the school council for Porthcawl Comprehensive School to discuss issues that pupils may have and to make them aware of the PACT Meetings held in their areas.

Each student has agreed to attend at PACT Meetings and take forward any concerns from the local youths in their area and also to note any concerns from the PACT meeting regarding the local youths.

Also brought up in this meeting was the idea to allocate a student to each Primary school to help work with the pupils in Primary schools and police in initiatives.

Home Fire Safety Checks

South Wales Fire and Rescue Services carries out approximately 6000 Home Fire Safety Checks and fit approximately 12000 smoke alarms in homes throughout the area each year.
