Neighbourhood partners act on identified PACT Priority

includes representatives from South Wales Police, Valleys to Coast, local councillors, and local business.

The April PACT meeting for the Cornelly Ward identified the derelict garages in Heol Llan as one of the priorities the local community wanted the police and partners to address.

As a direct result of teamwork between South Wales Police, Valleys to Coast, local councillors, local businesses, and community members, the derelict garages are to be demolished in the next few weeks.

Neighbourhood Beat Officer Neville Evans stated "The imminent removal of the garages is great news for Cornelly. The garages in their present derelict state were attracting youths, which were behaving in an anti social manner, with problems of littering and alcohol consumption."

PC Evans continues "The partnership astions as a result of the PACT meeting clearly show the importnce of public involvement, in improving the quality of lifefor communities. I would encourage community members to attend the monthly PACT meetings and have their say on the matters that they would like the Police and partners to address.
