Garw Rules

On Saturday 16th February 2008 Safer Bridgend will be hosting an anti social behaviour information day at he VETZ Club, Oxford Street, Pontycymmer.

Representatives from a variety of agencies including The Community Safety Partnership, Police, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Youth Offending Team, Samaritans, Creations Community Development, the local County Councillor, The Garw Valley Leisure Centre, Bridgend Youth Service, The Youth Council and information will be on hand to chat to parents about issues that surround the hot topic of anti social behaviour.

Visitors to Garw Rules will be able to access information that can help them and their children to prevent anti-social behaviour within the GarwValley.

As well as information there will be a pool competition, a snooker demonstration and refreshments will be provided. The event will be open from 10.00am to 4.00pm.

YouthWorks, a programme managed by Groundwork Bridgend & Neath Port Talbot has acquired funds from the Big Lottery and is currently seeking to appoint suitably qualified/experienced workers due to expansion of the programme within the Bridgend area.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Services carries out approximately 6000 Home Fire Safety Checks and fit approximately 12000 smoke alarms in homes throughout the area each year.
