Coychurch Llangrallo Primary School participates in Walk to school week

During the week of 21st-25th may 2007, Coychurch primary school and local

PCSO ROB NEWMAN, in partnership with Simon Ladbrooke BCBC Road safety

Officer took part in a "walk to school" week.

The children and parents met at the White horse pub in Coychurch. The children were all given high

visibility jackets and taught basic road safety skills such as how to cross the road safely, they were even live on Bridge fm screaming as loud as they could.

PCSO ROB NEWMAN continues.....

Walk to school is a fantastic initiative to be involved with. Walk to school promotes healthy living and keeping fit, but also teaches the children essential road safety skills which will stay with them for life.

It will also ease congestion outside the school making it a safer place for the school children and local community.

There has been a recent spate of dwelling burglaries in the borough where burglars are breaking into houses, taking the car keys and stealing the car and other posessions.

Home Fire Safety Checks

South Wales Fire and Rescue Services carries out approximately 6000 Home Fire Safety Checks and fit approximately 12000 smoke alarms in homes throughout the area each year.
