Bridgend MP hosts Information roadshow

Staff at the information roadshow

Madeleine Moon MP was delighted by the success of her first Information Roadshow held last Friday at Nolton Church Hall, Bridgend.

On hand to discuss personal issues were local staff from Bridgend County Borough Council Benefits Department, Job Centre Plus Office, Department of Work and Pensions, Age Concern, Bridgend Community Safety Partnership and Bridgend Fire Station.

Other advisors came from further afield, Child Support Agency, based at Birkenhead and a home energy conservation expert from EAGA in London.

Mrs Moon said:-

“I was pleased by the turnout, and would like to thank all those who contributed to making the event such a great success.

Everyone appreciated being given the chance to meet the ‘faces behind the voices’. As so often these days we are expected to discuss problems on the telephone, often speaking to a different person each time. The informal atmosphere meant you could chat easily to the friendly staff and receive personal attention.

Following on from this success, I am keen to take this Roadshow to other venues across the Constituency. I feel it is important that my constituents can access this free advice in their own community.”

The next Information Roadshow will take place at TrinityChurch, Porthcawl on Friday, 31 October, 2008.
