Brackla community council provide their neighbourhood Policing team with a hand held laser speed meter to tackle excess vehicle speed in Brackla
The Brackla Community Council has funded the purchase of a Unipar SL700 hand held laser speed meter, which will be used by the Brackla Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Brackla Community Council Chair David Sage stated “The Brackla Community Council is pleased to work in partnership and support community initiatives. The speed laser meter will make a significant contribution towards enhancing road safety within the Brackla community.”
Bridgend Inspector Richard Holder stated “The Brackla Community Council funded speed laser meter will enable Brackla Neighbourhood Beat Officers to conduct a number of vehicle speed related operations throughout the Brackla estate. These operations will prevent excessive vehicle speed, and will include enforcement via FT71 warning notices, and fixed penalties.”
Inspector Holder continues “The speed laser meter provided by the Brackla Community Council further represents effective partnership working between the Community Council, and the Neighbourhood Policing Team, towards making the roads throughout the Brackla estate even safer.”
Brackla Neighbourhood Beat Officer PC Steve Carpenter stated “The Neighbourhood Policing Team will be conducting a number of vehicle speed related operations throughout the Brackla estate. Excessive vehicle speed will simply not be tolerated, and drivers are advised to adhere to the speed limits.”

Community Partners will be holding the next Brackla PACT meeting on Thursday 8th March 2007, at Brackla Junior School, commencing at 18:30.
Community members are urged to attend, to identify priorities for partnership action.
The Neighbourhood Policing Team will also be holding Brackla PACT surgeries at:
Oak Tree Surgery, Brackla Triangle, every Tuesday, between 10:00 and 12:00.
Brackla Meadows Family and Neighbourhood Centre, every Thursday, between 10:00 and 12:00.
The surgeries will provide Brackla residents with the opportunity to share their concerns with officers, who will be on hand to answer questions and provide crime prevention information. It will provide Brackla residents with reassurance, knowing they have a regular opportunity to talk with their local officers.
