Aberkenfig Neighbourhood policing team join up with pupils from Sarn Nursery school to celebrate the nursery's eco schools Green flag award

The Aberkenfig Neighbourhood Policing Team have teamed up with the pupils of Sarn Nursery School, Bridgend to celebrate the school’s Eco Schools Green Flag award.

Aberkenfig Acting Police Sergeant and Sarn resident Mathew Tatchell stated “It’s a fantastic achievement by the nursery to gain the Eco Schools Green Flag award. The pupils and staff are very enthusiastic about sustainable development education, and the importance of global citizenship, and have embraced the entire Sarn community.”

Sarn Nursery School Head Teacher Lesley Evatt stated “The Eco Schools Green Flag award is the result of hard work from the pupils, but importantly reflects the community wide reach of the project, to enhance the quality of life of Sarn residents.”

Acting Police Sergeant Mathew Tatchell continues “The Aberkenfig Neighbourhood Policing Team is extremely proud of the nursery’s hard work on environmentally friendly issues. Over the last few months, the Neighbourhood Policing Team has experienced a number of these projects at first hand, including walk to school initiatives, and forestry awareness practical activities.”

Acting Police Sergeant Mathew Tatchell continues “The Aberkenfig Neighbourhood Policing Team will continue to work closely with the staff and pupils of SarnNursery School on a range of community enhancing activities.”
