Youngsters get the vibe this summer

PCSO Christian Freeth (right) helps out at the Summer Vibe

Newcastle neighbourhood Police Community Support Officer Christian Freeth has been working with Bridgend Youth Service throughout August supporting a range of centre-based services aimed at the young people of the area in a special Summer Vibe initiative.

Every Monday afternoon between 3.00pm and 7.00pm PCSO Freeth has been calling in to Bryntirion Junior School where he has been helping organisers provide a range of activities which include arts and crafts, dance, hair and beauty, basketball, pool, table-tennis, football, music and film-making, treasure hunts, quizzes, camp-craft and graffiti workshops.

PCSO Freeth said: “It’s a marvellous opportunity for young people to meet and work together and have some fun while also learning new skills.

“It also means that at the same time the youngsters have a safer summer, so why not come along next Monday and we all look forward to seeing you there!”

Summer Vibe offers a variety of activities, events, workshops and trips for young people in Bridgend County throughout the summer holidays.
