Road safety quiz winners with Pc Warlow and Deputy Mayor Christopher Michaelides,

The Road Safety Quiz final was held on Friday 11th June at the Odeon Bridgend who kindly hosted the event again this year.

It was organised by the four school liaison officers Constables Carpenter, Lynch, Stewart and Warlow. The fourteen Year 5 (9-10yrs) teams in the final were selected from preliminary rounds held in May. They represented all corners of Bridgend County Borough. After a close fought competition Oldcastle Primary School were beaten into second place by this years champions Llangewydd Juniors. The Borough was represented by Deputy Mayor Christopher Michaelides, who also presented the prizes.

This is Bridgend County Borough’s Community Cohesion Strategy for 2011 - 2014. It sets out our long-term strategic vision for integrated, inclusive and cohesive communities and includes an Action Plan that provides the framework for future activities in this area. The Strategy has been developed by Safer Bridgend in partnership with other public, private and voluntary sector bodies represented on the Local Service Board and with involvement of the wider community. We want everyone who lives or works in the County Borough to play their part in achieving our vision.

Your car may be at risk if you don't hide your keys

There has been a recent spate of dwelling burglaries in the borough where burglars are breaking into houses, taking the car keys and stealing the car and other posessions.

Home Fire Safety Checks

South Wales Fire and Rescue Services carries out approximately 6000 Home Fire Safety Checks and fit approximately 12000 smoke alarms in homes throughout the area each year.
