Llan Rangers vs Maesteg Neighbourhood Policing Team Charity football match

Llan Rangers and Maesteg Neighbourhood Policing Team

On Saturday the 14th of May Maesteg Neighbourhood Policing Team downed tools and donned their football boots to play Llan Rangers in the second Llangynwyd Ward annual charity match. The day saw off- duty PC’s and PCSO’s ambitiously take on the District 1st Division side at the Harlequin Fields in order to raise funds for the Communications Base at Llangynwyd Primary School. After a hard fought match the police accepted a final score of 4 – 1 to Llan Rangers which indicated a vast improvement on last years 10- 1 final score!

After the match Wayne Howells of The Corner House in Top Llan hosted both teams and supporters for the duration of the afternoon at the public house. This gave the ideal opportunity to give out informal and fun awards to various players; Awards were sponsored by local businesses and included Best legs and Best Fake Tan of the day. The day raised over three hundred pounds for the local primary school.
