Force is strong for Porthcawl Pupils

Pupils McCauley Lewis, Morgan Thomas, Daniel Thompson, Jake Weller and Thomas Hibbert Jones with a Police dog.

Five teenagers from Porthcawl Comprehensive got an insight into police life on Monday June 1st when they were treated to a visit at Force Headquarters.

As a reward for assisting officers with enquiries within the school, Front Line Support Officer Rebecca Morgan and PCSO Holly Prosser arranged for the young people to spend the day at Waterton training site with various departments within the force.

Testing out a breathyliser

The pupils were fortunate enough to see displays by the dogs section as well as meeting the Police horses. After spending time with the animals, the group got to see the big guns in action after meeting the firearms team, then had the high-speed thrill of getting to know our traffic cops.

Porthcawl officers also arranged for the young people to visit St Athens to see our force helicopter.

PCSO Holly Prosser said: The pupils were very helpful with enquiries at the school and we felt they deserved a reward, when I asked them what we could do to show our appreciation they all agreed straight away a visit to South Wales Police specialist departments. Each of them enjoyed the day and no doubt will be eager to tell their friends back at school all about it. Rebecca and I thoroughly enjoyed the day as well and learnt a lot about some of our colleagues.

A big thank you to the pupils McCauley Lewis, Morgan Thomas, Daniel Thompson, Jake Weller and Thomas Hibbert Jones. Keep up the good work.
