Car seized by local police

The seized car being loaded onto a transporter after being detained by Bridgend police.

Last Sunday (May 2) Neighbourhood police officers in Bridgend responded to reports from the Safer Bridgend CCTV unit and members of the public who were concerned about a car which was being driven around the Recreation Centre in an anti social and dangerous manner.

The car was later stopped by police officers and the driver was issued with a warning notice. In completing the notice it became apparent that the driver was stopped previously by local PCSO Chris Freeth for a similar offence in the same place.

Police officers then seized the vehicle and the owner had to pay a Fixed Penalty to retrieve the car.

PCSO Freeth said: “We will not tolerate erratic and dangerous driving in or around the Bridgend area. It is dangerous for the people in the vehicle, other road users and pedestrians and our actions show that if you are caught acting in this way you will pay the consequences.”
