Children from Ffaldau Primary School in Pontycymmer have a simple message for the drivers in the area – please don’t park on our zig zags!

PCSO Janine Ireland of Garw Valley Neighbourhood Policing team and the student school council at Ffaldau Primary on Ivor St have teamed up to launch Operation Zig Zag, a parking initiative to stop parents and other drivers parking on the zig zag lines outside the school gates.

On Saturday, 7th March, 2009, Laleston Neighbourhood Policing Officers - PC Tim Low and PCSOs Rob Chapman and Donovan Smith - assisted Bridgend District Scouts in their clear up campaign at the Laleston Scout Field.

4 youths in Nantymoel received anti-social behaviour referrals this week after South Wales Police launched a crackdown on youth annoyance in the OgmoreValley.

Police Offer Different Sort of Gift at Valentine’s Market

South Wales Police swapped Valentine’s chocolates and roses for crime prevention goodies this week, when they held their own stall at Bridgend town centre’s Valentine’s market.

Police Jingle Bells Campaign Halves Purse Thefts

More shoppers have been able to keep a grip on their finances this year, with the South Wales Police Christmas campaign ‘Jingle Bells’ helping to drop the number of purse thefts by 50% compared to previous years.


7 people from the Bridgend area were arrested this weekend following a successful operation by South Wales Police.

The police swoop, known as Operation Abacus, was a pre-planned operation that saw over 30 officers hit the streets of Bridgend town centre on Saturday, February 7th in a bid to stamp out substance misuse and alcohol-related crime.

Cardiff Devil Skate Stars Dazzle Youths on Maesteg NPT Trip

Youths from the Maesteg and Bridgend area enjoyed a night of devilish delight when they went to see the Cardiff Devils ice hockey team battle the Hull Stingrays on Sunday 1st February 2009.
