Police horses and dogs visit Heronsbridge school

Police Horses and dogs paid a visit to Heronsbridge School in Bridgend as part of the Home Office’s Not in My Neighbourhood Week initiative.

Motorbikes seized in Cornelly

The Neighbourhood Policing Team for Cornelly has been targeting the illegal and irresponsible use of motorcycles in the area - in particular those who are using the machines without insurance - and has seized three offending vehicles in recent days.

Halloween party for the Ogmore valley combats anti social behaviour

As part of the preparations for Hallowe’en and Guy Fawkes Night South Wales Police and its partners launched Operation Bang, a successful community safety campaign aimed at reducing anti social behaviour, providing high visibility public reassurance and educating young people about the dangers of fireworks and the consequences of irresponsible and unruly conduct.

PCSO Carl Westgate, of the Porthcawl Neighbourhood Policing team has been working with local primary schools to give pupils the chance to experience what its like to be a Police Community Support Officer for a day.

Street Rugby League Success Continues

The Crusaders’ first ever Street Rugby League competition took place on Friday 30th October at the South Wales Police Grounds in Bridgend.

Street Rugby League is a joint initiative between Safer Bridgend and the Crusaders and provides youngsters with an opportunity to be coached by the Crusaders along with Police and Police Community Support Officers.

Celebration of youth at Wildmill

The young people of Wildmill in Bridgend who attend their local Youth Works held a night of celebration on Monday (2 November) in front of the Mayor of Bridgend County Borough Council, Cllr Jeff Tildesley and Dr Brian Gibbons AM, Minister for Social Justice and Local Government in the Welsh Assembly Government.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team for Brackla, Bridgend is planning a number of crime prevention surgeries over the weeks and leading up to Christmas.

Drugs arrests in Maesteg

The Neighbourhood Policing team for Maesteg and Caerau has been month targeting the possession and supply of controlled drugs in the area during October.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team for the Oldcastle ward in Bridgend has got a slice of the action thanks to the local Dominos Pizza which has agreed to sponsor a mini football tournament for the area which is run in conjunction with the Home Office backed Not in My Neighbourhood Week.

There has been a recent spate of dwelling burglaries in the borough where burglars are breaking into houses, taking the car keys and stealing the car and other posessions.

Home Fire Safety Checks

South Wales Fire and Rescue Services carries out approximately 6000 Home Fire Safety Checks and fit approximately 12000 smoke alarms in homes throughout the area each year.
