It was a fair cop as X-Factor finalist Rhydian Roberts was on hand last earlier this month (December 4) to help to officially re-open the Sainsbury’s Superstore at McArthur Glen, Bridgend following a major £8 million refit and expansion which has seen the store increase in size to 53,000 square feet. |

The Oldcastle Neighbourhood Policing Team in Bridgend is running a series of mobile crime prevention clinics at the town’s major supermarkets offering a wide range of advice to the public on crime prevention. |

Popular Bridge FM DJ Lee Jukes and members of Bridgend Town RFC are among a number of men who backed Safer Bridgend in supporting the International White Ribbon Campaign held on 25th November each year for the eradication of violence against women. |

Pupils at Bryntirion Comprehensive School in Bridgend are making a proactive stand against violence on 25th November, which is International Day against Violence against Women, also, know as White Ribbon Day. Over 120 Year 7 pupils (First Year) and 36 Sixth Formers will be involved in this unique event which will highlight to the younger pupils the many faces of abusive behaviour. |

The Neighbourhood Policing Team for Cornelly has been targeting the illegal and irresponsible use of motorcycles in the area - in particular those who are using the machines without insurance - and has seized three offending vehicles in recent days. |

| Halloween party for the Ogmore valley combats anti social behaviour | |

As part of the preparations for Hallowe’en and Guy Fawkes Night South Wales Police and its partners launched Operation Bang, a successful community safety campaign aimed at reducing anti social behaviour, providing high visibility public reassurance and educating young people about the dangers of fireworks and the consequences of irresponsible and unruly conduct.

| Street Rugby League Success Continues | |
|
The Crusaders’ first ever Street Rugby League competition took place on Friday 30th October at the South Wales Police Grounds in Bridgend. Street Rugby League is a joint initiative between Safer Bridgend and the Crusaders and provides youngsters with an opportunity to be coached by the Crusaders along with Police and Police Community Support Officers. |
