Distraction burglary 30/01/09

The following message contains information of a distraction burglary that has recently taken place in the division.

A distraction burglary has taken place at Heol y Mynydd in Sarn, on Wednesday 28th January.

A male person pretending to be a maintenance worker tricked his way into an elderly ladies home. Eighty pounds was stolen from her purse.

The male is discribed as being white in his thirties of meduim build, approximately five feet ten inches tall with a stubbly face.

This person may have been accompanied and using an old small red van with black bumpers.

South Wales Police ask all recipients of this message to be vigilant, and report any potential sightings of offenders, or vehicles to Police Headquarters on 01656 655555.
