Urgent appeal

If you live near to an elderly, or vulnerable person, please take the time to think about who might be calling at their home.Three incidents took place on Tuesday in the Taff and Rhondda areas where elderly women have been targeted and large amounts of cash and property stolen.

The first took place at Pontypridd, when two males knocked on the door and entered the house saying that there was a water leak in the house. They made off with a quantity of cash.

One male is described as white, 5 foot 8 to 5 foot 10 tall, thick set, clean shaven aged between 24 to 30, wearing a black jacket.

The second is white 5 foot 5 to 5 foot 7, slight build 22 to 26 years old and wearing a beige cardigan.


The second took place later that day near Pontyclun. A seventy one year old lady was in her garden when she saw two men walk out of her house with a small safe containing several hundred pounds and jewellery.

One male described as white, early tewnties, 5 foot 8 tall, wearing a dark bobble hat and fleece.


The third incident is most alarming. Three men entered a house of a ninety year old in Tonyrefail. One man made the woman sit in a chair and sign an unidentified document. they were very aggresive and the victim was very distressed.

The men are described as white, between 30 and 40 with dark hair and dark clothing.

A full investigation is underway.
