Recycling and Waste Services

Poor weather and dangerous, icy conditions have severely affected waste and recycling collections across the borough.

Bridgend County Borough Council has now taken the difficult decision to suspend ALL its collections this week, up to and including Christmas Eve. The authority apologises for the inconvenience this will cause.
Residents are asked to avoid putting out their recycling boxes or landfill sacks this week and to store them until their next scheduled collection date.
The council and its partners May Gurney have made special arrangements to ensure your weekly recycling and fortnightly landfill sack waste should still be collected on YOUR USUAL DAY over the Christmas and New Year holidays but this will be dependent on weather conditions.
The safety of residents and collection crews will be our priority when deciding whether it is possible to send out our heavy refuse vehicles.
Please continue to check the council's website www.bridgend.gov.uk, for details and listen to 106.3 Bridge FM for updates before putting out your waste and recycling. The council's four civic amenity sites are currently open.

Bridgend County Borough’s Community Cohesion Strategy for 2011 - 2014

This is Bridgend County Borough’s Community Cohesion Strategy for 2011 - 2014. It sets out our long-term strategic vision for integrated, inclusive and cohesive communities and includes an Action Plan that provides the framework for future activities in this area. The Strategy has been developed by Safer Bridgend in partnership with other public, private and voluntary sector bodies represented on the Local Service Board and with involvement of the wider community. We want everyone who lives or works in the County Borough to play their part in achieving our vision.
