Distraction burglaries in Pyle and Kenfig Hill

If you live near to an elderly, or vulnerable person, please take the time to think about who might be calling at their home.

There has recently been a number of distraction burglaries in the Pyle and Kenfig Hill area.

At five o'clock on the evening of Thursday the 22nd February a male person purporting to be from British Telecom called at a house at Crown Road, Kenfig Hill. He stated he was making a follow up call and attempted to gain entry into the house , but was stopped by the occupant.

He is described as being a white male, early twenties, scruffy appearance, slim build, long fair hair under a bobble hat. He was carrying a blue A 4 file or clipboard. He did not have any identification.

The second occured at mid day on Thursday the 12th March at Collwyn Road, Pyle.

A male person tricked his way into an elderly persons house claiming he worked for the Gas board. He pretended to work on her gas fire but left with her handbag when she was not looking.

He is described as being male, white, tall, dark hair with a local accent and wearing dark clothing.
