Genesis Project

Genesis Wales logo

Genesis Wales is a project to help parents overcome many of the barriers they face when wanting to learn new skills or return to work.

Childcare can be a huge barrier for parents. It is often expensive and difficult to find. Through working closely with families, the Genesis project can offer financial assistance and other support to parents who need affordable childcare for them to access other courses and work opportunities, particularly for those returning to work or following redundancy.

The Genesis project is also aiming to increase childcare provision across the Bridgend Authority. We can provide support, grants and advice for people who want to set up new childcare - e.g. by becoming a childminder, setting up a playgroup or day nursery - particularly in areas where little or no childcare currently exists.

We can:

- Support people facing or following redundancy

- Provide information and advice on accessing childcare

- Work with employers to help address their childcare needs

- Provide support for anyone interested in setting up childcare provision or pursuing a career in childcare

Supported by the Welsh Assembly Government and European Structural Funds, local authorities across Wales will provide a range of support to help parents build a better future.
