BCBC Community Safety and Welfare
Meet Emma-Louise Maher, Bridgend County Borough Councils Community Safety and Welfare Officer.
Based within Safer Bridgend Emmas' job is to work together with the council and other statutory and voluntary partners to help to reduce crime and disorder. She will deal with all community safety and welfare issues on behalf of the authority; it is also vital for Emma to link in with community groups to ensure that such partners are working towards problems and priorities that the communities across the borough have identified.
Emma is currently involved with a number of initiatives that are being rolled out nationally, trying to ensure that Bridgend will benefit from new and innovative schemes such as the single non emergency number (SNEN), neighbourhood policing and utilising the South Wales Probation Services visible unpaid work team community work.
