Meet Emma-Louise Maher, Bridgend County Borough Councils Community Safety and Welfare Officer.

BAVO is the umbrella organisation supporting and promoting voluntary organisations in Bridgend County Borough, South Wales, UK. It is a membership organisation with membership open to all voluntary and community groups working or based in Bridgend County Borough. We are a registered charity managed by an executive committee elected from our membership.

The overall aim of Bridgend County Care and Repair is to enable older people and people with disabilities to remain within their own homes and within their local communities through the improvement of their housing conditions and their levels of comfort, independence and wellbeing.

The Bridgend Local Strategic Partnership is a partnership of representatives from the public, private, voluntary and community sectors that has been established to develop and implement a community strategy for the county borough of Bridgend.

Bridgend Children's Information Service provides free information and guidance for parents, carers and professionals on the full range of services available for children within the County Borough including information on:

Communities First is a long-term programme by the Welsh Assembly Government. The aim is to improve opportunities and the quality of life in the most disadvantaged communities in Wales as identified by the Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation

Genesis Wales is a project to help parents overcome many of the barriers they face when wanting to learn new skills or return to work.

People who have suffered a crime may need practical information and advice or simply someone to talk to.

Bridgend Young Offending Team is a multi-agency team, made up of representatives from Social Services, Education, the Police, Probation, Health and voluntary agencies. It currently sits within the Chief Executive's Department of Bridgend County Borough Council.

By bringing together representatives from each service, the Youth Offending Team aims to offer a holistic approach to tackling the causes of offending.

Local Youth Works programmes are built on local partnerships and work with young people aged between 8 and 25 years.
