Tidy Towns is a two part initiative between Keep Wales Tidy and Welsh Local Authorities, funded by the Welsh Assembly Government. The project seeks to work strategically by empowering the people of Wales to take responsibility for their local environment. |

The project in Bridgend is funded by Valleys 2 Coast Housing Association, Environment Agency Wales and Bridgend County Borough Council. Within the county of Bridgend, the Pride in Our Communities officer will initially work with the communities of Caerau and Cornelly to encourage residents to help tackle the problem of fly-tipping. |

Pupils from Archbishop McGrath Comprehensive School, Tondu, took part in a litter pick initiative on Monday 13th March 2006. The initiative was carried out with South Wales Police PCSO Laura Jones, and concentrated on picking litter from the school grounds, and Bryn Road. |

Over the last seven months the small recess area at the end of the lane that gives access to the rugby field at the top of Pen Y Fai Road has become a hotspot for anti social behaviour i.e. fly tipping, drug use, criminal damage and sexual behaviour. All these crimes are vehicle related especially after dark. |
