Street Rugby is back: Starting Monday 19th April

Safer Bridgend are working with the Welsh Rugby League and Communities First to invite young people around the borough to try something positive and try Street Rugby League.

In a partnership initiative, young people in Caerau, Nantymoel, Sarn and Wildmill will again have the opportunity to be coached by the Welsh Rugby League and Police Community Support Officers in friendly rugby matches in their neighbourhood.

From mid April to August, there will be a weekly training session and rugby match in each of the four areas, with a tag festival involving all the teams taking place at the end of each month.

All the Street Rugby League training and games will be held in open community spots such as local parks, making it more accessible for youngsters to get involved. All ages and abilities are invited to take part.

During the Street Rugby Sessions, there will also be other activities available for youths to get involved with in these areas, including boxing and dancing.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for Street Rugby League or just want to know more, contact the WRL Community Development Officer Richard Lewis on 07891 591683
